Outstanding people make an outstanding course ... Would highly recommend CodingNomads.

I found my personal mentor to be highly informative, interesting, and certainly made the course experience worthwhile. The private chat channels also are a great source of inspiration and valuable for starting the journey.

Great Course Curriculum and Even Better Instructors! I was impressed by how dedicated my mentors were. My mentor is very knowledgeable and personable, so that makes learning from him less intimidating. I also appreciate how responsive he is with any questions I send.

I am very glad I chose CodingNomads.

I'm really glad that I finally found CodingNomads. But I had to do it the hard way. I've tried to learn programming in a few different ways. First on my own, but I found that I hit a wall...

So, then I tried a fairly expensive bootcamp. They were all about proving they could work you to death ... Honestly, for the amount of money they charged and all the promises, I really expected more than that.

I have learned way more with CodingNomads than anywhere else. It was also a much more pleasant environment that is well-balanced in many ways. Would I recommend this education to a friend? Yep! With all that I know and have experienced it’s really a no-brainer.

Because of my prior experiences, I researched the heck out of CodingNomads. I did not make a fast decision. I took more time. I spoke to them, before signing up. I wasn’t passed through a chain of salespeople and phony processes to see if I qualified. I actually talked to my soon-to-be mentor. That made a big difference. More importantly, they have delivered. No false promises. I got everything that was promised and then some. I plan to continue on with their more advanced courses.

Do your due diligence and you will see why I say this is a no-brainer. Good luck!

Two factors influenced my choice of coding bootcamp. First, finding one with outstanding reviews that offers backend courses, and second, supporting a school with a worthy mission, not just another business ... After reading [CodingNomads'] story, and speaking to them, I was convinced that CodingNomads was the right choice for me, and I was not disappointed ... My mentor was a consistent source of motivation - and never gave up on me (when at times I gave up on myself!) ... If you still have doubts about which coding bootcamp to go for, all I can say is that I usually don’t write reviews but I couldn’t not write one for CodingNomads. This was a great course!

The instructors are very professional, and they make sure that the learning experience is productive, yet enjoyable ... Now that the course is finished, I feel confident in my skills as a junior software engineer ... They still support me with my projects, answer all of my questions, reviewing my resume and keeping track on where I am with my job application progress ... Definitely one of the best decisions in my life!

I was worried about finding the time outside of work to make progress. My mentor did an amazing job of tailoring the course to my needs and interests ... I had some prior experience in DS + ML, so I moved through the online courses pretty quickly. My mentor then went above and beyond to bring new and challenging topics to our weekly meetings to keep me engaged, interested, and educated. He also gave great career tips and advice, despite me not actively looking for work ... This is the most effective way I've learned anything since college!

  • Portrait of Brandon K.

CodingNomads was an awesome learning program and helped greatly in my ultimate goal of landing a first job in this industry...

    PROS ->

    • Great value
    • Constant support (during the actual boot camp, as well as the job search / interview process afterwards)
    • Self-paced content
    • Flexible 1 on 1 scheduling
    • They're willing to work out a custom plan that suits your individual needs
    • Some of the most friendly and knowledgeable people I've ever worked with.

    CONS ->

    • Virtual schooling is never quite as effective as in-person, but this type of content lends itself well to online learning.

  • Portrait of Donda Y.

A great online learning experience. Especially for me who did not have any technical background ... All lecture sessions were recorded which allows me to replay whenever I feel unsure about a specific topic ... Most importantly, the 1 on 1 coaching sessions with [my mentors] have helped me to understand the concepts as I completed the labs and created my own small programs. All instructors are great and willing to go the extra mile to overcome my difficulties.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much 1:1 time do I get in a bootcamp mentorship program?

When you’re enrolled in a mentorship program, you have one (1) scheduled meeting every week with your mentor, and you can reach out 1:1 via chat at any time.

Most meetings last 1 hour, but meetings can be shorter or longer depending on your preference. If you would like to meet more than once a week, contact us regarding a custom, or full-time mentorship program.

In between meetings, you are encouraged to reach out anytime you are stuck on our mentor-supported chat channels. That way if your mentor is not online when you need help, any one of our mentors can assist. We pride ourselves in providing regular, consistent, helpful support to everyone in the bootcamp mentorship program.

How many months do I need for a bootcamp mentorship program?

To go from absolute beginner to accepting a job offer, most students need 8-12 months of technical and career mentorship, when dedicating 15-20 hours per week to studying. Here’s how it breaks down:

Part I: Technical Mentorship. Depending on your learning speed, most beginner coders need 6-10 months to complete our Career Track curriculum in Java, Python or Data Science while working with a mentor.

After you complete the coursework and capstone project, you graduate from the technical program, and switch from a technical mentor to a career mentor.

Part II: Career Mentorship. You should expect 2-6 months to find a job, but you do not have to stay enrolled in career mentorship the entire time. We recommend 1-4 months of career mentorship to get your materials and strategy in place, help you with your interviews, and set you up to find work.

Does the bootcamp mentorship program include career coaching?

Our bootcamp mentorship programs offer both technical mentorship and career mentorship.

First, you work with a technical mentor to complete the curriculum and capstone project. Then you switch from meeting with a technical mentor to meeting with a career mentor every week. During career mentorship, you'll still have access to our mentorship chat channels for continued ad-hoc technical support.

The price is the same for technical mentorship and career mentorship. If you enroll in a multi-month mentorship program, you can use some months for technical mentorship and other months for career coaching.

Are there live lectures on a set schedule?

No. All lectures are pre-recorded, so you can complete the curriculum on the schedule that works for you.

Each week you have a 1-hour meeting scheduled with your mentor. You choose your meeting time, and can cancel / reschedule if needed*.

You’ll also have access to our live office hours and Tech Talks that you are encouraged to join, but they are not required.

What if I want a full-time online coding bootcamp?

Our bootcamp mentorship programs are structured and priced at a part-time rate. If you would like to study full-time, and you want more mentor support than the part-time program provides, we can create a custom program to fit your needs.

For example, if you’d like to meet twice per week, have longer meetings, and get more support while studying every day, we are happy to accommodate. Contact us if you’d like to discuss a custom and/or full-time schedule.

When does the coding bootcamp start?

Our online coding bootcamp mentorship programs are 1:1 with additional community support, so you can apply and start at any time - depending on the current waitlist.

After your application is approved, and you have submitted your first payment, it typically takes 1 week to get you fully onboarded, pair you with a mentor and get your first 1-on-1 session scheduled. Your start date and end date is then adjusted to your first mentor meeting date.

If you are enrolled in monthly billing, we also adjust your payment schedule after your first meeting so that your monthly payments match your meeting schedule.

Do I need experience to join an online coding bootcamp?

No. CodingNomads curriculum starts from the absolute beginning, and our bootcamp mentorship programs support you at whichever level you’re at. Many of our students are beginners, so you’re in a safe place!

That said, if you have never tried coding before, we strongly recommend you try our free and low-cost resources first to see if you enjoy the challenge before investing in a larger program.

What if I already have coding experience?

Already have experience? Great! You can expect to finish our online coding bootcamps faster than average, and only need to pay for the months of mentorship that you need.

By working with a mentor, we can assess your skill level and identify any critical knowledge that you’re missing to achieve a professional level. Then we’ll customize your learning plan to fast-track the sections of our courses that you already know, and complete those that you still need.

Once you’ve completed the required course sections and your capstone project, you will qualify for graduation and the course certificate. After that you will be eligible to start working with a career mentor if you choose.

What is the coding bootcamp student-to-instructor ratio?

CodingNomads bootcamp mentorship programs flip the typical coding bootcamp student-to-instructor ratio.

Instead of a cohort where you're many students to one instructor, in our programs you get one-on-one support from your mentor, plus one-to-many support from our team of technical mentors and career advisors.

Our mentorship programs are designed to give each student the personalized attention you need to meet your specific goals.

In CodingNomads' bootcamp mentorship program, you will also meet other learners of all levels on CodingNomads community chat channels and at live events. It is very common for students to form study groups, collaborate on projects, and cheer each other on during the interview phases. You just don’t have to speed up or slow down your learning for anyone else 🙂

What time zones are supported in the bootcamp mentorship program?

We have mentors located in North America, Europe and Asia, so can support most time zones. We love working with people from all around the world…it’s kind of our thing!

How do I sign up for the coding bootcamp mentorship program?

You can sign up for the bootcamp mentorship program here.

Is there a job guarantee / job placement?

Job Placement

When we have hiring partner opportunities, we connect students who meet the criteria, and help you through the application and interview process. We frequently post job opportunities on our mentorship chat channels, and we’ll help you with every step of the way.

Career Coaching / Job Support

Our coding bootcamps include career coaching to help you through every step of your job search. We go “all hands on deck”, meaning you’ll have access to multiple career advisors and technical mentors. By working with our team, you can become a highly qualified candidate who can pass technical interviews and get the job.

Job Guarantee

Because we are engineers we’ll put it to you bluntly: nothing in life is guaranteed 🙂 Job guarantees are typically limited to people who live in specific U.S. cities, and they don't guarantee you a job in tech.

Because our student base is global and diverse, instead we focus on providing personalized support to help you get the job you want no matter where you live, or your background. As long as you put in the effort, our bootcamp mentorship programs are very effective in helping you find work.
